Some Simply Cool Reviews

Thank you to our customers for providing feedback and writing reviews for us – you’ll find some tips and comments from their simply cool adventures which will hopefully help you in your decision to hire a simply cool camper!

Hello Anne. I just wanted to take this last oppotunity to really thank you for our trip last week We booked our trip at short notice and Anne was very accommodating – rushing round making sure everything was perfect for our little trip away. I can’t recommend simply cool campers enough. The set up inside the camper is so fun yet very practical and economical. My only slight concern (as we were travelling in March) was that we might have been cold at night so we brought a hot water bottle for the trip. We needn’t have done this because it was so cosy inside. For us, there was nothing quite like waking up overlooking a reservoir and having a cuppa admiring the stillness and views of country side. Thank you Anne for making this a reality.

An unforgettable weekend!

We had a truly unforgettable weekend in Pheobe with my 5 year-old and 2 year-old. The were utterly delighted with our campervan adventure and didn’t want to come home. Thank you for a magical and memorable weekend’

Pheebs off to Latitude festival in Suffolk!

We took Pheebs on a road trip to Latitude festival in Suffolk and we couldn’t have asked for anything more from Anne and her simplycoolcamper!

Stocked immaculately with everything we could need and more, this is one way to make camping feel more like glamping (glamorous camping!). Phoebe can definitely sleep 4 adults, but we decided to take the awning which turned out to be the best decision! If you don’t plan to do much moving around whilst you’re at your destination, then I would definitely recommend the awning – fantastic (huge!) space for sleeping, storing and living. If you have bad weather it would be perfect. Two of us slept up in the roof of the van and two out in the awning, which comes with a very spacious inner tent.

The drive down was a breeze, the traffic wasn’t, but the space in the back meant that we could kick back and relax with a game of pass-the-pig to pass the time!

This is fun!

We have recently returned from a fabulous weekend in the lovely Phoebe. She was so well equipped with everything we could have needed – Anne really has thought of everything! The welcome pack was very thoughtful and our daughters were really pleased with their little treats. We loved the homely feel of Phoebe – pretty, practical and cosy. The four of us (two adults, a four year old and a two year old) found that the layout worked really well for us, we could fit the child car seats easily and stored them on the front seats when not driving. The girls loved sleeping and playing in the roof – it was definitely the highlight for them! We didn’t hire the awning or small storage tent but for a family for more than one night I would definitely recommend one or the other for storage. Phoebe was enjoyable to drive and so easy to manoeuvre and park. We loved our trip in Phoebe so much that we are now on the hunt for a Bongo of our own – however finding one that meets our now high standards is going to be a challenge. Anne, if you’re thinking of selling Phoebe let us know!!

I could get used to this!

“I hired Phoebe for a week’s ‘road-trip’ with my dog, down to Devon. It was a lovely week. Phoebe was easy to drive and a fun and comfortable way to camp and travel. It was so easy to get around – I loved being able to wake up in the morning at a campsite, then simply drive off to wherever I wanted, and have a cup of tea looking out over amazing scenery! Phoebe had enough facilities to meet my needs, but was simple enough to be able to use without having been in this type of camper before. Great for unpredictable weather too – lovely to be able to cosy in when it’s raining and windy outside! Anne had provided all the essentials as part of the hire. Next time I use Phoebe I might also hire an awning for added space, and if there was more than me and my dog I’d definitely do that. But for the trip I did it was ample. A great way to spend the week, and I’d think about getting my own camper now!!”

A fab time at Henley Regatta!

“We booked with Simply Cool Campers at short notice and Anne was very accommodating & full of advice on what we needed for our 6 night trip to Henley Regatta. Phoebe was the name of our home for the next few days and ‘she’ was very compact, comfortable and contained everything we needed & more, especially with the ‘conservatory’ that came as added space. If your looking for a cool campervan experience look no further”

“Fabulous time in this little camper. A well-thought-out layout, with seat in the rear rather than the more usual rear kitchen unit. The pop-top roof allows standing room inside – which is important when you’re over 6ft tall!

The van is dead easy to drive too. Automatic gears took no time at all to get used to. We’ll definitely be taking a campervan trip again soon.”

Phoebe on her adventures in Scotland!

We chose to rent a camper through Simply Cool Campers as it suited us perfectly. The only issue we had was not wanting to give it back!

We took Phoebe to Scotland for a week and loved every minute of it! We quickly adjusted to the automatic driving (with indicators on the right!) and found her easy to drive. The rear-view mirror made parking so much easier too!

The van was very well equipped – from cooking utensils to blankets and games. It was surprising how much storage there was, especially in the fridge, we fit a week’s worth of bolognaise in there! We fit all of our stuff easily into the boot and had room for dry food supplies in the drawer under the back seat.

We liked having the flexibility of being able to sleep in the top or bottom and found it to be a very comfortable night’s sleep. Having the roof up at night allowed for good ventilation and the blinds made it feel very private.

Anne was great at providing all the information we needed and showed us how to use everything before we left. She was very flexible with pick-up and drop-off times and gave us a lift back to the village which we really appreciated.

Overall we loved our week with Phoebe and would highly recommend Simply Cool Campers to anyone! Being able to drive, cook, chill out and sleep on the move allowed us to really make the most of our trip without having the inconveniences of a large motorhome! So it’s well worth giving it a go!

Thanks Anne, we’re grateful of all the effort you made to make it such a great experience. We hope to do it again.

Showing off Phoebe’s awning!

On arrival you’re up and running in a matter of minutes, just the awning to put up if you have it, which is pretty straightforward, just suprisingly big!! (Even has a carpet, yes, told you this is glamping!). Anne really has thought of everything, with some special touches which really make a difference.

We couldn’t fault Pheebs at all, she handled thunderstorms, 4 adults, muddy wellies and a music festival and we will definitely be recommending her to friends and family.

Thanks Anne and see you again Pheebs!!!

We loved our simply cool campervan, Phoebe!

My fantastic family holiday with our simply cool campervan.

When we arrived to pick up the van, Anne had it all done up for us. The van was immaculate and there were all the extras we needed to have a good time. From plates and cutlery to warm throws, tables and chairs for the evening.

Phoebe, our campervan didn’t have the largest of living spaces but we were lucky with the weather and spent most of our time outside. We chose an eco campsite in Norfolk with no electric hook up by mistake. There was also little to no signal for our phones.

That mistake helped make the holiday.

We realised we could still sit together and talk and have a good time without the TV and mobile phone distractions.

As for comfort, we each had memory foam mattresses and thick duvets. My two daughters slept up in the ceiling tent area and my wife and I stayed below in a bed that was part of the rear seating area that folded into a bed for the evening. The van also came equipped with a fridge, stove, sink and kettle.

I don’t know if it was all the walking we were doing while staying on the Norfolk Coast or just being happy to be away from work for the weekend but we all slept like babies.

The campervan was nice to drive too. It was also quite economical. Round trip from Sheffield where we picked it up to Brancaster Beach, Kings Lyn and back only cost about £70.

Would we do it all again? You bet!

I really recommend giving one of these campers a go. We used to have a large caravan which we towed from here to there but it wasn’t always the easiest or most stress free thing to do. For a short break a small campervan just plain gets it.

We loved the experience and would love to do the same again someday.
